There's no place like home for Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. The 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim on Sunday was the Foals' sixth home win on the spin. Just Borussia Dortmund (3-1 defeat) and Ingolstadt (0-0 draw) have avoided defeat in Mönchengladbach in the past 14 Bundesliga games at Borussia-Park.

A dominant first half display was rewarded with a half-time lead through an own goal from Jeremy Toljan and a late strike by Mahmoud Dahoud. Andrej Kramaric, on loan from Premier League side Leicester City, pulled one back, but it was shaprly canceled out by Andre Hahn's fourth of the season, which clinched all three points.

Schubert's side come impressively quick out of the tracks when on home soil - in five of their last six home games, the Foals have taken the lead with a goal inside the first 16 minutes. Superb interplay between Granit Xhaka and Oscar Wendt carved open a flat five-man Hoffenheim defense, with Jeremy Toljan getting the final touch on the cutback ahead of Andre Hahn and turning the ball past his own keeper.

Mark Uth, with five goals to his name since Julian Nagelsmann took charge, failed to convert a clear scoring opportunity at the far post in the 20th minute. Kevin Volland's cross was inch-perfect, yet the Hoffenheim striker couldn't bring the ball under control at the vital moment. The visitors, despite an impressive resurgence, remain three points above the relegation zone.

Hahn powers Foals to win

Gladbach's second was controversial, and arrived just before the break. Hoffenheim's keeper Oliver Baumann lost control of the loose ball and Dahoud fired home from close range. The visiting keeper's protestations towards referee Robert Hartmann were in vain, as Hoffenheim's trip to Gladbach appeared to be after just 45 minutes.

Eight minutes after the restart of play, Kramaric slotted in his fifth of the season to reduce the arrears. But the Foals restored the two-goal cushion on the hour mark when Hahn beat the offside trap and tucked the ball past Baumann. It capped off a special day for the 25-year-old who missed five months of the season with a serious knee injury.

Having scored against Hertha recently, Hahn picked up his second goal since returning to action following a long lay-off - and the joy was palpable. Substitute Jonas Hofmann should have added a fourth in stoppage time, but he hit the side-netting from close range. The Foals end the season with Bayern Munich next weekend, Bayer Leverkusen at home and an away trip to Darmstadt. Just one point behind Hertha but with a goal difference superior by 12 goals, Gladbach are well placed to break Hertha's hearts and sneak into Champions League qualifying.
