Two outlaws shot dead in shootouts

Two bandits were killed allegedly in separate shootouts with police in different areas here on Saturday.
In Sargodha, an outlaw wanted by the police in 22 cases of heinous crimes was killed in alleged shootout with police. The spokesman for the district police informed that three robbers snatched a motorbike and other valuables from a citizen in the remit of Laksian Police and fled away. On information, the police started chasing the bandits and managed to intercept them near village Mateela. As soon the robbers saw the cops, they resorted to indiscriminate firing, while the police retaliated and a shootout ensured. During the exchange of firing, one of the robbers later identified as Ehsan Raees was killed and his accomplices managed to escape from the scene. The police seized illicit weapons including a Kalashnikov, a rifle, magazine and cartridges from the dead dacoit.
In Sheikhupura, a suspected robber was allegedly killed during a shootout with police on Kala Khatai Road here on Saturday.
The police said that an exchange of fire took place between the personnel of Ferozwala Police and three robbers. During the crossfire, one of the robbers was killed on the spot while the two others fled the scene under the cover of firing.
Meanwhile, locals caught two robbers busy looting people on Gujranwala Road. The locals thrashed the robbers and later handed them over to police in injured condition. The police shifted the injured robbers to the DHQ Hospital Sheikhupura. The police said that the robbers would be shifted to the police station for interrogation after medical treatment.
