Minors 4.22.16: Kevin McGowan blanks Bradenton in relief for St. Lucie

SACRAMENTO 3, LAS VEGAS 1: Sean Gilmartin allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight in six innings. All of Sacramento’s damage came on solo homers. Mac Williamson produced long balls against Gilmartin and Paul Sewald. Mitch Delfino also took Gilmartin deep. The 51s took a brief 1-0 lead in the sixth on when Ty Kelly doubled and scored on Dilson Herrera’s single. Box

ERIE 4, BINGHAMTON 2: Dominic Smith's RBI double in the first inning gave the B-Mets a 1-0 lead, but Erie prevailed. Tyler Pill (0-2) allowed two runs on six hits in six innings. Dean Green's two-run homer against David Roseboom in the eighth opened a 4-1 lead. Smith finished 3-for-4. Phillip Evans joined the Mets from St. Lucie with Jeff McNeil landing on the disabled list. ST. LUCIE 4, BRADENTON 1: Ricky Knapp surrendered a game-opening double to Pablo Reyes, and Reyes scored on a groundout, but that would be all for the Marauders. Knapp allowed nine hits but grinded through six innings. The Mets turned inning-ending double plays in the fourth and fifth innings with runners on the corners. Kevin McGowan earned his second save by throwing three no-hit innings. He struck out four. The Mets tied the score at 1 in the third when Amed Rosario blasted a two-out double that plated Champ Stuart. A single by Tomas Nido in the fourth scored Wuilmer Becerra, who had opened the inning with a double. The Mets added a two-out, two-run double by Stuart later in the frame. Knapp is 3-0 in three appearances (two starts and a relief appearance) replacing rehabbing Josh Edgin. McGowan has not surrendered a run in his last four appearances. Box

COLUMBIA 5, GREENVILLE 3: Dash Winningham singled and scored the tiebreaking run in a two-run ninth inning for the Fireflies. After Winningham reached base, Jeff Diehl walked. An error on Natanael Ramos' sacrifice bunt plated Winningham. Milton Ramos followed with an RBI single for a 5-3 lead. Earlier, David Thompson had two RBIs, upping his season total to 18. Columbia placed Kevin Kaczmarkski on the DL before the game. Box
