Observer holds meet

Veera Jayanth, Expenditure Observer for the Pudukottai District, has urged the election officials in-charge of monitoring the expenses, to ensure a fair strategy. Addressing officials here on Friday, he ascertained the flying squads functioning across the district for checking any illegal cash transaction and the video recording of the proceedings during the course of check up of vehicles. S. Ganesh, District Collector, S. Marimuthu, District Revenue Officer and other officials participated.

Two file papers

Two persons, both Independents, filed the nomination papers on the first day of filing the papers on Friday. The candidates Dhanabal Chettiar and Puviararsan filed the papers for the Alangudi and Aranthangi Assembly constituencies.

7,291 for election duty

As many as 7,291 officials and employees will be drafted for election duty for the forthcoming Assembly elections. In a release issued here on Friday, S. Ganesh, District Collector, advised the video team to properly record the details such as the procession and number of vehicles used.
