KUD, Apr 22: Village head of Panchayat Halqa Upper Kud has alleged that the district administration Udhampur and the private construction company have totally ignored the Kud area.
Mohammad Mushtaq, Sarpanch Upper Kud village has appealed the Union Ministry of Road and Surface Transport and the district Administration, Udhampur to pay heed to the grievances of the shopkeepers, traders and other people of the area whose livelihood would be ceased once the Nashri-Chenani tunnel project is completed.
The Sarpanch said that after the completion of the project not only Kud but somehow even the Tourism Industry of Patnitop shall be affected but neither the district administration at its own or the State Tourism Department have found out any way to provide any alternative source of livelihood to the affected people.
The Sarpanch urged the people at the helm of the affairs to consider genuine issues of the local people who have given their land for the overall development of the State and the country.
