Bengaluru: Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Friday defended his government's decision to challenge the high court order quashing 15 FIRs filed against BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa. "All are equal before the law. Be it a CM or a former CM," he said.
In a cabinet decision earlier this week, the government decided to challenge the HC verdict in the Supreme Court.
Siddaramaiah said there is no political motive behind the decision. "We are yet to file the special leave petition in the apex court," he said.
On the probe recommended by the Lokayukta court on Friday against minister for textiles and ports, Baburao Chinchansoor, Siddaramaiah said he is clueless and will react only once he gets the information. The case against Chinchansoor was based on a private complaint against the minister for amassing disproportionate assets during his term as an MLA.
