Chelsea reportedly retain a strong interest in signing Everton duo John Stones and Romelu Lukaku this summer. The highly-rated centre-back was the subject of numerous bids from the Stamford Bridge club last summer, while the 22-year-old Belgian striker transferred to Everton from Chelsea in 2014.

The West London club have been strongly linked with both players over the last few months and despite the impending arrival of Italian manager Antonio Conte, their interest remains strong. Everton are predictably reluctant to sell the sought-after pair, having already rejected a number of bids for Stones, and will look to retain their better players this summer.

Stones has actually struggled to hold down a regular place in Roberto Martinez's starting line-up at Everton this season, but that has not discouraged Chelsea from expressing their interest in the player, according to ESPN. The England international has also been linked with moves to Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona, if Everton can be convinced to sell.

Chelsea did not insert a buy-back clause in Lukaku's contract when they opted to sell the player two years ago, meaning they might have to pay a vastly inflated figure if they are to tempt Everton to part ways with the in-form Belgian.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also reportedly confident of sealing a deal to sign Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan this summer. He is expected to become one of the new manager's first signings at Stamford Bridge.
