Deutsche Bank VP Sapna Bhawnani joins Credit Suisse as legal co-head

Bhawnani heads from Deutsche to Suisse
Bhawnani heads from Deutsche to Suisse

Deutsche Bank India senior legal counsel Sapna Bhawnani will join Credit Suisse in Mumbai as its joint director and co-head of legal India in the coming months.

She will share the responsibilities with Credit Suisse’s director and head of legal, Neeta Sanghavi, who had joined in 2014 from Crawford Bayley, Wakhariya & Wakhariya and UBS India.

It is understood that Bhawnani will have a particular focus on structured finance and related work.

Bhawnani, a 2004 GLC Mumbai graduate, began her career at Desai & Diwanji, later moving to Juris Corp, PVP Ventures as corporate affairs VP, Bharucha & Partners as a senior associate, and Deutsche Bank in 2010.

Bhawnani and Sanghavi declined to comment when contacted.

It is understood that Deutsche Bank has not yet selected a successor to Bhawnani.

Deutsche Bank's India general counsel remains Anjallee Paatil, who succeeded Jigar Shah, who in 2013 joined JPMorgan.
