BELAGAVI: Tahasildar Preetam Nasalapure has imposed section 144 IPC around 26 acres 32 gunta private open land beside Sangolli Rayanna Circle here on Thursday late night citing probable disturbance to law and order problem.
Prohibitory orders passed considering the considering the recommendation of Market sub inspector till April 25th of 8am. Orders are applicable for 20 meters around the compound of the prime land.
Followers of Methodist church headed by pastor HS Solomon, on Thursday, had met district in-charge minister Satish Jarkiholi urging to impose prohibitory orders on the property.
However, holding the press conference here on Friday, Shankar Munavalli, power of attorney holder of the property termed imposing prohibitory orders is a political conspiracy. No government agency could impose prohibitory orders on private property. Besides, according to order, technically it doesn’t apply to property but outside the compound. The orders have passed misusing the powers under the pressure of local MLA Firoz Sait, who is interested in grabbing the property, he said.
Munavalli said high court has given clear directions to the police department to provide protection to Kulkarni family to enjoy the property. Instead doing that, police allowed other party to trespass in the property and trouble the property owners. Trespassers have stolen materials in the property besides damaged his car by pelting stones. It all happened in the presence of police. It’s a clear evidence that police did not abide to court orders, which he question in high court, Munavalli said.
Further he said, “department has registered 20 FIRs against me filed by the individual encroachers on Thursday evening. All complaints are concerned to troubling the followers of Methodist church in our private land. It’s clear evidence that police allowed church followers inside private land against court orders”, he said. According to Munavalli, there is criminal conspiracy by DCP Anupam Agarwal, ACP Jaykumar, Market inspector Ramesh Gokak and tahasildar Preetam Nasalapure behind imposing prohibitory orders and registering 20 individual FIRs against him to appease their political bosses.
