Madurai: Singam Kootani or Lion's Front, a new front comprising three smaller parties was formed here on Thursday. The front will be spearheaded by the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB).
Announcing the new front, general secretary of AIFB, Tamil Nadu and sitting MLA of Usilampatti P V Kathiravan and All India Moovendhar Munnani Kazhagam (AIMMK) president N Sethuraman said the new front also includes the All India Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam.

They further said that AIFB and AIMMK would contest in 23 constituencies each and All India Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam in one constituency. On behalf of AIFB, Kathiravan would contest in Usilampatti while Kannan and Sivamani would contest in Thirumangalam and Melur respectively. tnn
The list of candidates of Sethuraman's party is prepared and will be released after it is placed at the memorial of Pasumpon U Muthuramalinga Thevar. They further said the front would teach a lesson to the Dravidian parties in this election.
The AIFB and AIMMK were in the alliance of AIADMK. But, they were not considered by the AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa. It resulted in the new Front.
