City gets two new power substations

Kanpur: Two new substations, one at K Block in Kidwai Nagar and the other at Namak factory crossing were energised by Kanpur electricity supply company (Kesco) and made functional from Wednesday night.
Residents of Naubasta and Sarvodaya Nagar will be benefited with the energisation of the two stations. Before it, many localities were served by Naubasta and Sarvodaya Nagar substations, which used to cause power overloading.
The new substations will reduce load on the existing substations in Naubasta and Sarvodaya areas and the residents may get better power supply.
The localities to be benefited with the start of the new substation in Kidwai Nagar would be K and Y blocks, Saket Nagar, Keshav Nagar, Juhi Gaushala and Hamirpur road. Similarly, Rawatpur, M, L and P blocks of Kakadeo, Roshan Nagar, Sharda Nagar, Chappera Puliya and Shivpuri will be benefited with the start of substation at Namak Factory crossing.
Kesco spokesperson R D Pandey said the new substations will save people from the problem of overloading power cuts.
