Indore: Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh high court on Thursday heard arguments on an election petition filed against BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya for allegedly bribing voters through cash and liquor. Justice JK Jain heard statements of Kamal Girwal, a witness in the case who claimed that he saw BJP leader's supporters distributing liquor in Manpur area of Mhow.

"During cross-examination, Girwal said that Kamal Patel, Vijayvargiya's representative, distributed the liquor on November 20, 2013 to voters and asked them to vote for the BJP leader during the state assembly elections in 2013," said advocate Vibhor Khandelwal. Antar Singh Darbar, former MLA from Mhow, had moved a poll petition through Khandelwal before the court, urging to dismiss BJP leader's election on grounds that he had indulged in malpractices.
