Man duped with promise of govt housing

Ahmedabad: A Saijpur resident has filed a complaint with Madhavpura police for Rs 79,560 cheating against two. According to a complaint by Narayan Katara, a resident of Shamalji Apartment, Saijpur, accused Himmat Luhar and Faiz Mohammad Shaikh, both residents of Mehendi Kuwa area of Madhavpura, had promised him an apartment in the scheme launched by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for economically backward and had got the money from him and others towards various charges for the past few months.However, they never provided them with the promised house nor did they return their money, prompting Katara to file the complaint.
