Deportivo La Coruña 0-8 Barcelona, 2016 La Liga: 3 Things We Learned

Barcelona's crisis has come to an end in a fantastic way after a 8-0 destruction of Deportivo La Coruña on Wednesday night with a memorable performance from Luis Suárez and a great overall showing from a team that gave a strong response to the critics. Here's a few takeaways from what we saw at Riazor.

1. The Real Barça is (almost) back
We cannot overreact to a 8-0 result alone and think all the problems are over. The defense was still a little too open, and Depor were able to take 16 shots against the Blaugrana. There were three giant chances for the hosts, and if it wasn't for poor finishing and last-second tackles, the Catalans would not have gotten a clean sheet.

But on offense, it was a sensational night. Everything worked, the players had great understanding between each other, and the movement from everyone was spot on. The team had a similar performance as they did against Valencia on Sunday, and playing well seems to be a trend again instead of an exception after two impressive games. This is not the unbeaten team yet, but the last two performances are going in that direction.

2. Marc Bartra has to stay
Let's get this out of the way: Bartra will never be the monster we all want/expect him to be. He is a competent defender with holes in his game that are difficult to address with so little playing time. But he is one of the hardest workers in training according to all reports, and he is almost always solid in the very little chances he has to play. Bartra might be starter material somewhere else, but he is a very good backup to have. If Barça signs Marquinhos or Laporte, then the team will have one hell of a defensive group, with quality, depth and versatility across the board. And Bartra continues to prove he's good enough to be part of that group. Of course, it's a different story if he want's to go, but it won't hurt to keep him around. He will step up when called to duty. That's not bad at all.

3. Luis Suárez is rare
Suárez suffered along with the team during the terrible two weeks they had, but the Uruguayan bounced back in spectacular fashion. He was directly involved in SEVEN FREAKING GOALS, had a masterful overall performance and showcased every aspect of his game: strength, speed, vision, passing, finishing... All combined into a complete package completely unmatched in world football. I dare you to find one player who has the exact same qualities as Luisito. There are (few) players better than him (two of them play on his team), but no one is like him. He's a rare, unique footballer who has completely changed Barça ever since he joined. We are really damn lucky to have him.
