BBK DAV College lift overall trophy

AMRITSAR: The Department of Physical Education of BBK DAV College put up a splendid show by lifting Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Overall General (men and women combined) Sports Championship Trophy 2014-15, along with a cash prize of Rs 46,800.

The Department of Physical Education of BBK DAV College put up a splendid show by lifting Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Overall General (men and women combined) Sports Championship Trophy 2014-15, along with a cash prize of Rs 46,800. The college also won the Overall General Sports Championship Trophy 2015-16 in ‘A’ division (women) with a large margin by securing 26,560 points.

As many as 70 players of the college were awarded prize money of Rs 16,00,000 in different games by Brig Harcharan Singh on the 46th Annual Sports Prize Distribution Function at Dashmesh Auditorium, GNDU Campus.

Two cyclists of the college, Kezia Vargheese and G Manisha, got a cash prize of Rs 2,37,000 and Rs 1,96,000 respectively.

Principal Pushpinder Walia was honoured for being the biggest contributor in winning the MAKA Trophy. Sweety Bala was honoured as the Best Head of Department of Physical Education and also awarded with a cash prize of Rs 6,000 for being a lady manager in Taekwondo runners up-team in the All-India inter-varsity championship.

Walia said winning the trophy for the fifth time consecutively was a huge achievement for the college. She encouraged the achievers to maintain their performance in future also.
