310 liquor bottles seized from Gaya jawan's house
Gaya: Altogether 310 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) were recovered on Thursday morning from the house of a homeguard jawan who was deployed at one of the points created to prevent liquor smuggling in the district following imposition of total prohibition in the state on April 5.
The recovery was made during a raid conducted at homeguard jawan Devarjit Yadav's house under Magadh Medical College police station area of the town.

He was deputed at Ramshila under Kotwali police station area.
Police sources said Devarjit accumulated the bottles during duty hours while checking liquor smuggling. Confirming the recovery, Gaya SSP Garima Malik told TOI that the jawan has been arrested and is being forwarded to judicial custody. "I have also written to district magistrate Kumar Ravi recommending cancellation of the jawan's contract," said Malik.According to the DM, Jeevika activists were enthusiastically participating in the drive to make the prohibition a total success in the district.
"The district administration was also getting important feedbacks from Jeevika workers," said Ravi.
The DM also said that panchayat election candidates were being administered oath not only to refrain from liquor consumption but also spread the message of ill effects of wine consumption.
Asked about the response to the de-addiction centre opened in the district hospital, the DM said so far 50 persons have come for treatment at the de-addiction centre.
