FAI sanction Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers over derby trouble

The FAI have charged Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers with five and two offences respectively, following the crowd trouble that erupted during their League of Ireland Premier Division match earlier this month.
The incidents occurred on Friday, April 5 at Dalymount Park during a league game Shamrock Rovers won 4-0.
With the match on going, supporters of both clubs ran onto the pitch, before physical altercations involving them and stewards unfolded. Gardaí soon subdued the trouble but no arrests were made.
The FAI Disciplinary Committee have charged Bohemians with five offences under the categories of 'Pitch Invasion', 'Match and Player Safety Obligations' and 'Missiles' - objects thrown by supporters.
Shamrock Rovers were charged with two offences: 'Pitch Invasion' and 'Missiles', relating to conduct of their own supporters. Neither club intend to lodge an appeal.
An FAI statement included the following:
“The FAI Stadia & Security Committee are reviewing Match Operations on the night of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game and met with Bohemian FC regarding how the fixture was managed on the night. Both clubs opted not to appeal the decisions.”
