Ivo Karlovic eliminated from Nastase Tiriac Trophy

BUCHAREST, Romania – Second-seeded Ivo Karlovic was eliminated from the Nastase Tiriac Trophy in the second round on Thursday, losing to unseeded Lucas Pouille 6-3, 6-4.

The big-serving Karlovic had 10 aces but converted only one of his four break points. He was broken three times.

Defending champion Guillermo Garcia-Lopez also reached the quarterfinals, defeating Kyle Edmund 6-3, 6-3.

Also, sixth-seeded Guido Pella advanced with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Daniel Gimeno-Traver, seventh-Paolo Lorenzi beat Taro Daniel 6-2, 6-0, and Marco Cecchinato defeated Damir Dzumhur 6-3, 7-6 (3).
