Ramaswamy admitted in hospital

Actor and political analyst Cho S Ramaswamy was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Wednesday with severe respiratory problems. Ramaswamy, a multifaceted public figure, was later shifted to a ward, said doctors. The 81-year-old has been in and out of hospitals since last year for several health problems.
Three held for trying to steal motorbike: Three teenagers were arrested for attempting to steal a motorbike at Thiruvottiyur in the wee hours of Wednesday.Police are on the lookout for one of their accomplice. Police said the four men, who were friends, tried to steal a motorcycle belonging to Kabeer Sareef, 23, that he had parked near his house at West Mada Street. The gang took to heels when neighbours raised an alarm. Police later arrested three of them.
City doc invited to Russia: Senior cardiac surgeon Dr K M Cherian is invited as a speaker at the 20th Annual session of the Scientific Center of Cardiovascular Surgery in Moscow, Russia. The session is being organised by AN Bakoulev Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery between May 22 and 24. Dr Cherian will talk on clinical experience with Cardiac stem cells and laser vascularization of heart.
Malaysian food fest to be inaugurated: Malaysian Consul General for South India Ahmad Fajarazam will inaugurate Malaysian food festival at the Colony Restaurant, The Raintree Hotel on Thursday at 3pm. The festival is organised by Tourism Malaysia.
