Citizen facilitation centre to open today
Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will inaugurate its first Jan Seva Kendras (JSK), a citizen facilitation centre, at its Khanderao Market headquarter on Thursday. Sources said that 128 different services offered by the VMC will now be available through the JSKs.
VMC is planning to set up around 26 such centres across the city so that citizens can avail its facilities near their residences or workplace.
Each ward will have one such centre and the bigger wards will have more.
The functioning of the centres has been outsourced to a private agency. The civic body will be spending Rs 1.74crore on the project.
The centre will remain operational for one year on an experimental basis and if successful, more will be set up.
In the first phase, the civic body is eyeing to have six JSKs that include one in each of the four zones of the civic body and at Badamdibaug besides the one at Khanderao Market. The center will, however, not receive complaints for which the citizens can use other avenues.
The applications made by citizens at the JSKs will be monitored by senior officials of the VMC online.
