It's a Triumph!

It's a Triumph!

Life's swim and loungewear round-up has you covered

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

This spring/summer, swimwear staple Triumph offers three collections of flowers that suit all different types of whimsies. There are feminine and lush florals painted with a watercolour touch which look just as attractive on bikinis or over-sized scarves which can be used as body-wraps. It's generic and a safe bet for all women, but if you require more detail and depth, the Fiesta collection boasts pieces that employ traditional-looking embroidery of hot-hued flowers that line the neckline of all suits and flowy tops.

Moschino.

The most useful and new detail comes from the Bloomsbury set though. Behind the one-piece suit which is splashed with Bohemian flowers that are given a modern and graphic twist is a zipper with a long sash so ladies can get in and out of their suits without any need for help to zip or unzip.

Basic (extremely deep) scoop back one-piece suits from Vick's are not to be missed though, if you like the minimalist look. They come in solid and neutral colours, be it black, olive or cream, for a timeless and seamless elegance. However, it's the stripey suits that come in sweet palettes of bright yellow, scarlet red and softer shades like pastel blue and pink that are too cute to be passed up. There's a line of low-key jewellery that complements the swimwear line in a boho manner too and necklaces that drape across the back and earring studs of little sea animals. The only other (too cute) one-suit option is Moschino's: decked with all three Powerpuff Girls and loud comic graphics.

For serious water babies, look to Coralist instead, for swimsuits that are less flesh-baring and even have long sleeves. Their practical but fashionable gear makes scuba diving a much more glamorous affair, with long sleeved suits made of mesh for a see-through effect. There's also a choker included in the set, as the suit can also be worn as a top on the shore. With the sports luxe trend this summer, look sexy without having to worry about wear and tear, as delicate strings and straps are not the order at Coralist.

Find Triumph at all leading department stores; Vick's at EmQuartier, Siam Paragon and Ari 2; Moschino at Central Embassy; and Coralist at SOS Sense of Style at Siam Square 1.

Hello sailor

Nothing sticks out like overdressing for the beach. Unless you intend to, the option of going for marine-themed clothes is always a safe bet for the sea. Sretsis' chill clothesline Sincerely Yours offers a cruise collection that features charm bracelets, nautical memorabilia motifs and sailor-inspired details. No sailor should sail alone and this season, they've got matching nautical striped knitwear and printed shirts darlings can wear together. Available at Siwilai, Central Embassy.

New Romantic

This season, the local loungewear's new face Urassaya "Yaya" Sperbund brings a more softer and innocent vibe to Misty Minx. Maxi dresses and jumpsuits still look very feminine, but keep a vintage air with crafty knits and shapes. If looking for a fancy beach dinner staple, there are many pieces with metallic details for a more luxurious oomph. Nothing looks racy in this collection, but things still look pretty slinky, because Yaya, ya know. Whether or not you can pull off the (seemingly) doe-eyed innocence and refuse to be clad in revealing outfits, at least the casual pieces will make you fashionably stylish for any beach. Available at all Misty Minx stores.
