Cong tells workers to focus on Muslim-Dalit formula

Allahabad: The Congress leadership has planned to focus on Dalit-Muslim formula to win more assembly seats in the district in the forthcoming UP assembly elections.
Congress leadership has chalked out a fresh strategy to work upon wherein teams of youth workers and senior leaders would be visiting slums and minority-dominated areas of city, trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna pockets to apprise Dalit and Muslim voters with achievements and welfare schemes brought out by Congress governments during their regime.

Claiming that the combination of Dalit and Muslim could leave its impact on six out of 12 assembly seats of Allahabad, including Soroan, Phulpur, City West, Bara, Phaphamau and Pratappur, the party would focus on them for better poll results.
Congress state general secretary Mukund Tiwari said, "The party leadership has planned an array of events to bring Muslims and Dalits back into the fold.
He said it was the Congress that made a Dalit woman the Loksabha speaker and a Dalit the home minister.Tiwari claimed that they would be discussing the strategy with Prasant Kishore during their two-day meet in Lucknow on Wednesday and Thursday.
