Workers of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) have begun work on a three-tier protection wall, along with the construction of ghats at Kedarnath prior to the opening of the shrine portals on May 9.
Additional Commissioner, Garhwal, Harak Singh Rawat visited the shrine and reviewed the construction work. He lauded the efforts of the NIM team and directed them to be prepared to greet pilgrims on the opening day of the yatra.
The NIM officials said the works were going on at war footing and would be complete by May 9.
