2 held with fake notes at Kishanganj

Patna: Two persons were arrested with fake Indian currency notes (FICN) of Rs99,500 face value near Dhanpur Chowk under Kochadhaman police station area in Kishanganj district on Tuesday evening.
The two have been identified as Mohammad Maqsood Alam (32) and Mohammad Shahjad Alam (22). They are native of village Hat Gaanji under Bahadurganj police station in Kishanganj district.
Kishanganj SP Rajeev Mishra said the fake currency was probably meant to be distributed among voters during upcoming panchayat elections in the district. "Investigations are on to identify the gang and its other members," he said, adding that the FICN was brought from Nepal.
He also said Maqsood is contesting for mukhiya post in the upcoming panchayat elections. TNN
