The new centre has many amenities for children and lactating mothers

The Medak district administration has established two model anganwadi centres that have better facilities. Sporting a corporate look, the 840 sft building has walls with colourful paintings of different articles like kite, pots, house, forest, animals, pond and so on to amuse the children. In addition, a new compound wall was also constructed for the anganwadi centre.

The centre at Cheriyal village can provide facility for 50 children to play and stay during the fixed hours. A room for pregnant and lactating mothers and a kitchen has also been provided. Compared to the other anganwadi centres, this centre looks like a single bed-room house with large space and was constructed at a cost of Rs. 8 lakh. The second such model anganwadi centre was established at Goudicharla.

Collector D. Ronlad Rose and MLA Chinta Prabhakar have inaugurated the centre on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ronald said that services of UNICEF would also be used to run this centre and all the anganwadis in the district would be developed on the same lines. Mr. Prabhakar said that pregnant, lactating women and children of both Goudicharla and Cheryal would get benefitted through these centres. Both of them also formally launched the second phase of Mission Kakaitya works at Devunikunta in the village out skirts.
