Westminster Group updates on pending Sierra Leone ferry repair

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - N.America) Westminster Group Plc (LON:WSG) anticipates new repair work will begin soon for its ferry in Sierra Leone.

In a stock market statement this morning Westminster told investors that it had been advised that works on the vessel currently occupying the slip - where the repair work can take place should be completed this week.

The ferry will be loaded to the slip once that work is complete it added.

Earlier this month Westminster reported that the Sierra Queen ferry - which provides a transport route to an airport - had sustained some minor damage from an uncharted submerged obstacle while moving between terminals.

"It is believed that the damage is limited and any necessary repairs will be undertaken as soon as possible. The submerged obstacle is being investigated and will be removed or buoyed" the AIM group told investor.

The Sierra Queen underwent repairs to the propellor last year but has performed well in sea trials that involved various trial crossings and manoeuvres.
