Muktangan Exploratory Science Centre enters 25th year
Pune: The Muktangan Exploratory Science Centre (MESC) of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan has entered its 25th year of establishment on April 8. Several science related programmes have been arranged by the exploratory from April 23. The exploratory is a distinctive science centre which aspires to stimulate curiosity and arouse science learning in all age groups – students, teachers, senior citizens, and community in general.
A statement issued by the exploratory said that Our Science Centre will complete 25 years in the science field on April 8, 2017.
Bharati Baxi, in-charge of the centre said in the statement that, currently, we are having two sub-centres viz. at Kothrud and Nigdi. We have planned to celebrate our silver jubilee in a grand manner. Exciting programmes shall take place throughout the year. The programmes will be for all age groups and are meant for students, teachers, parents and the general public.
The exploratory will be organising science lecture series from April 23 to April 27 to popularise science among masses and also to address contemporary scientific issues related to society. Eminent speakers, specialists in their fields will deliver their lectures on science and related topics.
A lecture on gravitational waves by Varun Bhalerao, talk on fight against cancer — Hopes and Reality by Dhananjay Kelkar, watermarks by Rajendra Saraf, modern trends in science development by Anil Lachke, urbanisation and smart city by Sulakshana Mahajan has been organised at the Paranjape Vidya Mandir School ground in Kothrud daily at 6.30 pm between April 23 and 27.
