Trident Group to make its employees shun intoxicants, empower women

The group has announced to finance the studies of kids of all those employees who shun intoxicants. It has also announced a bonus of Rs 25,000 and 25 extra holidays in a year to women employees who have the responsibility to run their household.

BARNALA: In the first of its kind initiative in corporate sector, 1 billion US dollar Trident Group, has announced scores of incentives to its 15,000 strong work force. It also aims to make its employees shun intoxicants along with implementing women empowerment in real sense. The group has announced to finance the studies of the kids of all those employees who shun intoxicants.
It has also announced a bonus of Rs 25,000 and 25 extra holidays in a year to the women employees who have the responsibility to run the household.
The group management has also decided to start the concept of calling all the employees and officers by their first name irrespective of the position one holds in the group. All these measures were announced under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative on the 26th foundation day of the corporate house, which was celebrated on Monday night as its mission day. Trident has adopted the measures under its new found theme of 'Swabhimaan ki muskan' and through it the group aspires to turn from the biggest to the best.
Trident is one of the biggest terry towel manufacturers in the world and has its presence in textiles and paper industry as well.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had few months ago called upon corporates to contribute thier bit in transforming society under CSR initiative.
Trident chairman Rajinder Gupta said “going by the ill-effects of the intoxicants directly on the family and on the society, we at Trident have decided to make all the 15,000 employees to shun any type of intoxicant that one is involved in. Trident will duly take care of all their family members who shun it as the group will share the responsibility of the studies of the kids. Rs 10 crore has been kept for it”. By this we want to contribute in making the society intoxicant-free. He said, "the group management has decided to take care of the families of the women employees who run their household and have no serving brothers. Such employees will be given Rs 25,000 annual bonus extra of all the emoluments and will be given 25 day holiday in a year so that they may give more time to their families". He said Trident wants happiness on every face.
Rajinder Gupta said Trident has also decided to shun the practice of referring to ‘Sir’ or ‘Madam’ to seniors and have decided to call everyone by the first name even if the person is much higher in designation.
Meanwhile, playback singer Nitin Mukesh regaled the nearly 10,000 employees on the mission day at the open air theatre of the Trident complex. The mission day was celebrated at Budni near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh for only 2 days where similar announcements were made for the employees along with a musical eveining to enjoy Nitish Mukesh songs, said Rajinder Gupta, who is also the vice chairman of the Punjab state planning board.
