The specialized seminar began on Tuesday in the northeastern city with the participation of a number of scholars from different parts of Egypt, the Wito website reported.
The university’s faculty of Religion has organized the scholarly event, Muhammad al-Bayumi, the dean of the faculty said.
He said al-Azhar Islamic Center in Cairo has cooperated in holding it, which is aimed at promoting the Islamic concepts of moderation and balance.
The Quran’s call for moderation, how Islam views the concept of moderation and what being moderate means in Islam are some of the topics discussed at the seminar.
