GIM confers degrees on 2015-16 PG batch

A total of 291 students were awarded various diplomas in management studies at the 16th annual convocation of the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Sakhali.

Panaji: A total of 291 students were awarded various diplomas in management studies at the 16th annual convocation of the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Sakhali.
Of the total batch, 231 are full-time PGDMBA students, 32 are from the part-time MBA program and 28 students are from post graduate diploma in health care management (PGDM — HCM).
Former Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairman, Chandrashekhar Bhave handed over the diplomas and awards of merit to students.

The Damodar Sripad Borkar gold medal for best academic performance in PGDM was bagged by Karan Gupta, and Karthik Pillai was awarded the Prof Tarun Pasricha silver medal for academic performance. Fr Romuald D'Souza gold medal for best student of the year PGDM was handed to Piyush.
The GIM gold medal for best academic performance, part-time PGDM was awarded to Nilkanth Dinker, and the GIM silver medal for best academic performance part-time PGDM was earned by Gaurav Guirish. The GIM gold medal for best academic performance PGDM-HCM was awarded to Isha Chawla, and the GIM gold medal for best student of the year PGDM-HCM was won by Duggirala Aditya. The other awards presented were; Nirmal Goswami gold medal for communications to Keegan Fernandes, the alumni association gold medal for the best summer project, and Dr. Deepa Martins memorial medal for special recognition of extra-curricular activities (silver medal) was awarded to Nirnai Nitin Nevrekar.
The batch got placement offers from the likes ofGoldman Sachs, Citibank, Deloitte, D.E. Shaw, HUL, Infosys, Cognizant, PWC, E & Y, KPMG and Amazon in IT, consulting and FMCG companies, among others.
At the convocation ceremony,
Prof. Ajit Parulekar, director, GIM, said, "GIM's strength is its diversity, be it in its academic, ethnic or social. The students of GIM have always proved themselves in terms of academics and research." tnn
