Vadodara: Fire brigade on Tuesday saved a father-daughter duo in Gorwa after fire broke out at their residence. House of Kiran Makwana (30) got engulfed in fire when he was asleep with his four-year-old daughter Preesha Makwana.
According to the fire brigade, a short circuit in the electrical circuit had caused the fire. The rooms were filled with fumes making it difficult to locate keys to the doors.

"The father and daughter were rescued through a window about one feet wide and one feet tall. The duo suffered minor burn injuries following the incident," said fire officer Om Jadeja. Kiran's wife Jyotsna, who works as a nurse with GMERS was at work, when the incident took place.
This is the second incident of fire at residence in the last five days. On Saturday, two persons were killed after a leak in gas cylinder led to fire in a residence near Rameshwar society in Gotri on Saturday evening. The deceased have been identified as Dharmendra Rao (40) and Suresh Naik (33).
Rao and his family were performing a yagna in the parking of his residence at Sadguru Tower when the fire broke out. According to fire brigade, Rao was in the kitchen of his residence on the second floor with Naik. They were preparing food for the relatives and guests. The duo did not sense the gas leak and were trapped inside the kitchen.
