JAMMU, Apr 19: A grand Gurmat Samagam (Chardi Kala Diwas) was celebrated at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram, here under the supervision of Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch.
A large number of Sikh devotees from various parts of Jammu participated in the religious congregation. Many Ragis and preachers from within and outside the State recited Gurbani. They included Giani Bachan Singh, Bhai Harpreet Singh, Bhai Jagtar Singh, Bhai Gurdev Singh of Delhi and Sarwan Singh Sewak.
Several prominent persons from the community and leaders of Sikh organizations of the State participated. Besides Mahant ji, representatives from Sikh United Front, Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Seva Society, Sikh Welfare Society, AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Guru Ramdas Seva Society Poonch and members of DGPC Jammu, Udhampur and Poonch, J&K Motor Transport Company Association, Jammu addressed the religious gathering.
While addressing the speakers highly appreciated the services of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch from 1st Sant Bhai Pheru Singh to 13th Sant Manjeet Singh Ji in the field of religious and spiritual education besides opening colleges and imparting modern education to the children. They also praised the celebration committee of `Chardi Kala Diwas’ and prayed for the betterment of the people.
Dera Sant Mahant Manjeet Singh also spoke on this occasion and stressed upon the Sikh Sangat to maintain unity, brotherhood and work for betterment of the humanity. The celebration committee of `Chardi Kala Diwas’ also presented Siropa to Mahant Ji for his best achievements toward the humanity in J&K and outside State.
