Lucknow: The crisis of drinking water at Veerangana Avanti Bai Hospital (Dufferin Hospital) known to give a tough time to patients and attendants will finally be sorted. A separate dedicated boring well set-up will get functional this week.
"The government had sanctioned Rs 75 lakh for the purpose and the new system is expected to get functional in a day or two," said Arvind Kumar, principal secretary health and family welfare, after a meeting to review various complaints related to the hospital on Tuesday.
In another decision, 28 staff
nurses were appointed at the hospital in the wake of patient burden here.
"There were just 40 staff nurses to attend to more than 100 new mothers and their babies. The deficit hurt patients, attendants and the hospital authorities. The additional staff would ease
the situation," Kumar told reporters.
Meanwhile, class-IV employees at the hospital clashed with patient attendants around 4pm, causing inconvenience to other patients. Hospital security staff intervened to control the situation.
