AMET ties up with UK body for spate of benefits

AMET University signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK-based Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) in the city on Tuesday to facilitate faculty and student exchange, conduct of lectures and symposiums, exchange of academic information, collaboration in fields of mutual interest and other academic cooperation.

Chennai: AMET University signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK-based Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) in the city on Tuesday to facilitate faculty and student exchange, conduct of lectures and symposiums, exchange of academic information, collaboration in fields of mutual interest and other academic cooperation.
The MoU was signed by J Ramachandran of AMET University and Sean Walsh, deputy director, ICS during AMET's international conference on Shipping: Indispensable to the World held at Hyatt Regency.

As part of the MoU, ICS will provide books listed by AMET at subsidised rates. Further, the ICS curriculum will be aligned with relevant degree courses at AMET. The shipping industry should operate eco-friendly ships without compromising on speed and connectivity, noted Col Dr G Thiruvasagam, V-C, AMET University.
