Election 2016: Business leaders brace for election pause

Businesses are bracing for the long-running federal election campaign to have a dampening effect on the economy while firms and consumers put off purchases.
"The retail market is particularly sensitive to the uncertainty that comes in the lead up to an election," Myer chief executive Richard Umbers said. "So the sooner the election is run, the better."
