Corporators’ flip flop continues: Now 2 from NCP, MNS join Shiv Sena

Nashik: NCP corporator Ranjana Borade and her MNS counterpart Surekha Nagare recently joined Shiv Sena ahead of the civic elections, which are likely to be held early next year.
Both the corporators joined the party at the residence Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai on April 18. As many as eight corporators of different parties, including the MNS, have joined Shiv Sena in the past few months.
Nagare won the civic elections in February 2012 from ward no.
18 A in Satpur division of the Nashik Municipal Corporation, while Borade emerged victorious from ward no. 33 in Nashik Road division.
City Shiv Sena chief Ajay Boraste told TOI, "Borade and Nagare joined the Shiv Sena with their several workers on Friday in the presence of Thackeray. Shiv Sena is the only party which is fighting on the issues of common people. Even though the party is in power, it came to streets for the sake of common people. This is the reason people are getting attracted towards the leadership of the party's supremo."
Without naming the NCP and Congress, Boraste said, "The opposition parties have remained only on paper. They are coming to streets only to save their corrupt leaders. On the contrary, Shiv Sena did so to deal with common issues of the people."

Another corporator abandoning the party is a major setback for the ruling MNS in the municipal corporation, bringing its number down to 26 from the earlier 36 in one-and-a-half months. Altogether 10 MNS corporators have left the party and joined the Shiv Sena and BJP in the recent past. Of these corproators, five each have joined the Shiv Sena and BJP.
On February 29, former mayor Yatin Wagh, former standing committee chairman Ramesh Dhongade and ex-Cidco division chairman Arvind Shelke left MNS had joined the Shiv Sena. Another MNS corporator Ratnamala Rane also joined the party on March 29.
Five MNS corporators, including senior leader Pratap Mehroliya, joined the BJP on March 31. These corporators include former west division chairpersons Sunita Motkari and Madhuri Jadhav, ex-east division chairperson Vandana Shewale, Archana Thorat and Deepali Kulkarni. They joined the BJP in the presence of guardian minister Girish Mahajan.
Former MNS corporators Shobhana Shinde and Nilesh Shelar joined the Shiv Sena during the mayoral elections in 2014.
