Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu surprised his Cabinet colleagues on Monday by giving them ranks based on their performance.

According to information, Women Empowerment Minister Peethala Sujatha stood first in the ranking, while Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana secured fifth rank. Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao secured second rank, while Agriculture Minister Pratipati Pulla Rao trailed him.

Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, Labour Minister K. Atchennaidu stood in sixth and seventh positions respectively. I and PR Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy managed to secure 11th rank, while Rural Development Miniter got 13th rank. This is second time that the chief minister surprised the ministers and MLCs with rankings. Mr. Naidu also gave grading to MLAs and MLCs. Rankings given to ministers in their home districts, however, is not known.

A year ago, Mr. Naidu gave rankings to his elected representatives and ministers at party conclave organised in the city. Then, irrigation minister, agriculture minister and labour minister lagged behind others in their home districts. Excise and prohibition minister Kollu Ravindra raced ahead of Mr. Uamaheswara Rao in the rankings last year.
