Liquor baron's son poses as SSP to watch IPL match, held

Parth Wadia, the son of a liquor baron and an accused in the Delhi's sensational pub brawl case of 2014, along with his nine friends, was arrested by the Mohali police outside the PCA stadium for impersonation on Sunday night.

Mohali: Parth Wadia, the son of a liquor baron and an accused in the Delhi's sensational pub brawl case of 2014, along with his nine friends, was arrested by the Mohali police outside the PCA stadium for impersonation on Sunday night.
A bouncer identified as Jatinder who was with Parth was booked under arms act for carrying weapon without a valid licence.

According to police, Parth and Jatinder, who were in a Porsche, and followed by his friends in two other cars, were on their way to the PCA stadium, where an IPL match was on, when they were made to halt in Phase VIII at a check post.
The youths to evade security checks said to the cops that there is no need to look into the cars as "SSP sahib is sitting inside the Porsche", said a senior police officer
But when cops inquired about the SSP and asked for the identity card, the youths panicked and fled away but they were unaware about the next check post, where they were nabbed.
The local police used wireless message and managed to nab the accused. During the search of the vehicle, a .32 bore revolver was recovered form the possession of Jatinder.
The son of Delhi-based liquor baron Kishan Lal, Parth had hit the headlines two years back after he and his friends had got into a brawl in a posh south Delhi pub on June 27, 2014. Parth, his friends and security officers with him had started brandishing weapons when were denied entry to the pub. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras in which the accused could be seen hitting the pub staff.

Mohali SSP G S Bhullar said, "Whosoever will try to take law in their hands will not be spared. Parth and his friends have been booked as per the law. He was caught pretending to be SSP and tried to flee."
Lakhwinder Singh, SHO of Phase VIII police station, said, "We have lodged a case under section 419 (cheating by impersonation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) against Parth and his nine friends, and his bouncers has been booked under arms act, and has been sent into judicial custody."
He added, "The grandfather of Parth is Kishan Lal, a liquor baron based in Delhi. The expensive vehicles Porche and other cars (Tata Safari and Maruti Gypsy) were impounded."
The arrested accused were produced in a court on Monday and all except Jatinder were granted bail.
