Grenadian national claims builder is having her stalked
A 23 year old Grenada national living and working in the city as a model and producer filed an FIR on April 7 against her former boyfriend, Samir Chunawala. She now alleges that she is being stalked and threatened after she filed a case against him. The accused is still at large though he has filed for anticipatory bail at a Dindoshi court.

After she filed the FIR against Chunawala of Fairmont constructions, which is headquartered in Andheri the model alleges that Samir’s brothers Farookh and Arif have launched on a campaign of intimidation, ringing her bell late at night and fleeing. "There have been threats to me that if I'd don't withdraw the case I will be killed. On one occasion, when I had gone to meet a friend, a car started following me and kept following till in called my lawyer and police gave me an escort van which dropped me home." said the victim.

She believes it is an attempt to scare her so that she withdraws the case and flees from India. Instead of tucking tail and running, she has raised the alarm, to get the support she needs. “I have filed complaints regarding the incident with the FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office), women's commission and also informed the Grenadian embassy." The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) has now called for a report from the Amboli police regarding the investigation conducted thus far. Grenada embassy officials will also be meeting the victim this week.

According to her statement, the victim says she knew Chunawala for two years and was in a relationship with him. He apparently objected to her modelling career and had asked her to not attend late night parties. After an altercation, the victim ended their relationship, after which Chunawala tried to contact her on numerous occasions though she did not respond.

She finally relented and agreed to meet him at her Amboli residence on the evening of April 6. During the meeting she received a call which caused her jealous former flame to accuse her of cheating on him. He proceeded to abuse her, touch her inappropriately, before he struck her. "We will record the statement of the victim and register a threat complaint against those involved. We are yet to get call detail records of the accused, which could help us trace and nab him. We have raided four places including his offices and residence but could not find him," said a senior police officer from Amboli police station.
