I don't need parties' help for my stir: Mudragada

Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan was never asked to join the agitation being taken up for the Kapu community, says Padmanabham.

ANANTAPUR: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham said it was his agitation that had forced the government to address the Kapu community’s long standing demands as the neglect and injustice done to his people went back several decades even during the regime of top SC leaders, such as B.R. Ambedkar and Damodaram Sanjeevaiah.

Mr Padmanabham was in the city on Sunday to take part in a meeting with Kapu activists and leaders when he told mediapersons that he did not need to depend on any influential person or political party to power his agitation, demanding reservations for the Kapu community in the state.

“I don’t have any personal agenda,” Mr Padmanabham said, adding that Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan was never asked to join the agitation being taken up for the Kapu community. He was critical of the fact that Kapu activists were being harassed and criminal cases were being booked against them for alleged involvement in violence on the day of the public meeting at Tuni.

Mr Padmanabham further said that he would announce a plan of action after July if the state government failed to fulfil its assurances to them.
