MIRPURKHAS: Several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and members of civil society demanded Sindh health minister to ensure adequate medical treatment to rape victim, Asma, a resident of village Kufail Ahmed Rajput, deh 383, taluka Shujaabad. A rape case has been registered with Kunri Police Station after the directives of district and sessions court Umerkot. Rozina Junejo, Najma Panhwer, Gulbadan Javed and Haseen Musarrat of Women Action Forum Hyderabad arrived at Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas and met mother and sisters of the victim girl. Talking to media they jointly demanded the Health Ministry and other authorities concerned to ensure immediate medical treatment and arresting of the involved culprits. They urged the government to ensure proper complete medical treatment of victim girl Asma, and demanded the lawmakers to come forward for the help of the victim girl. Asma was severally tortured and molested in taluka Kunri by her husband and other family members about one and half month back when she was brought at Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas in female surgical ward. However, according to her mother Hussan Bano, no proper medical checkup was given to the victims and she was still in senseless condition. Sindh Rural Partners Organisation Executive Director Zahida Detho and his colleagues Noor Muhammad Narejo took up case first and later lawyer Roshan Ali Mallah presented his free of cost services in this regard. Later, HRCP Chairperson Majida Rizvi, Aurat Foundation and Women Action Forum Hyderabad also entered into the scenario to help the victim girl. After hectic efforts on the order of district and sessions court Umerkot, Hussan Bano, mother of the victim girl has lodged the rape case under section 376 and 34 PPC with Kunri Police Station against alleged accused Muhmmad Hussain, Altaf Hussain, Ilyas and Talat. They also demanded to provide protection to the family members of the victim girl.
