MUDA told to appeal to Urban Development Dept.

April 17, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - Mysuru:

The district administration has instructed the Mysuru Urban Development Department to appeal before the Urban Development Department to take action for regularising houses constructed on ‘B kharab’ land.

The Deputy Commissioner based on a High Court petition verified the documents and withdrew the orders passed in 2012 by the former Deputy Commissioner P.S. Vastrad, who said the four layouts were not ‘B kharab’ lands. An official said that since MUDA formed the layouts on the ‘B kharab’ lands, the DC asked it to appeal before the Urban Development Department for rectification. Hence, the ball was now in the MUDA’s court, and the residents of the four layouts will have to wait with their fingers crossed.

Alarming

A startling fact is that a few government buildings, including the Administrative Training Institute, is also situated on this land. The government agency had not only formed layouts illegally on ‘B kharab’ lands, but also distributed sites to residents and government offices, the official said.
