Addressing Neeru-Cheeru programme at Singarayakonda village in Prakasham district today, he said that Rayalaseema and Prakasham district were facing the threat of becoming as desert due to acute water shortage. He said that the government had taken up Pattiseema Lift irrigation project to divert Godavari water to the river Krishna. He asked the people, who encroached irrigation canal bunds to vacate by a month. He warned of stern action unless they vacated the canals.
