Let Rahul project himself as CM candidate for Punjab: BJP

Chandigarh, Apr 16 (UNI) Claiming that the bubble of artificial 'charishma' of Capt Amarinder Singh has burst much before the Punjab elections, BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh today challenged Congress vice- president Rahul Gandhi to project himself as chief ministerial candidate in the state and test his political strength and popularity.
In a statement here, the BJP leader claimed that while the Congress top brass was depending on Capt Singh's 'popularity', everyone in its Punjab unit has by now understood that even the erstwhile Maharaja could not revive the sagging fortunes of the party.
Terming Punjab visit of Rahul Gandhi as Congress vice-president's frustration, Mr Chugh said it was nothing more than 'Rahul's Political Tourism' which has not yielded results anywhere in the country.
