AIE to fly daily from Sharjah to Mumbai

Budget carrier Air India Express has expanded its operations in UAE by introducing daily flights from Sharjah to Mumbai effective April 9, 2016.

Sheikh Faisal Bin Saud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: "Sharjah airport is growing and attracting more airlines. Even the existing companies expand their businesses, thanks to the airport’s efficiency of operations, making it easier for the company to serve its customers in the region”.

Melvin DeSilva, Regional Manager – Gulf, Middle East & Africa, said: “With the introduction of these services, Air India Express is now operating a total of 27 services week from Sharjah – 7 each to Mumbai, Cochin and Calicut and 3 each to Varanasi and Trivandrum. In addition, Air India, the parent company of Air India Express, also operates 14 services per week from Sharjah – 7 each to Cochin and Calicut, taking the total operations by the Air India group from Sharjah to 41 services per week to 4 destinations in India.”
