No relief for people in SeK, downtown Srinagar as restrictions continue

Srinagar, Apr 16 (UNI) There was no relief for the people in the downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) in the summer capital, where curfew-like restrictions continued for the fifth day today, when separatist organisations have called for a general strike in protest against the death of a teenager boy and injuries to three others in Army firing in Kupwara yesterday.
Meanwhile, restrictions also continued in Maisuma , where the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) headquarters and house of its chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik are located and nearby localities to prevent any demonstrations.
All separatist leaders, including chairmen of both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC), are under house arrest while Mr Malik and senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah are detained in police stations.
