Man who stole 11 bikes in three months caught

Surat: A motorcycle thief, who stole 11 bikes in Katargam, Udhna and Varachha police station areas, was arrested on Thursday. Acting on specific information, a team of Katargam police kept a watch near Manav Dharma Ashram and nabbed the thief Harish alias Lalo Babu Patel. Police said Harish, a resident of Govardhannagar in Dindoli had lost his job wa a diamond worker three months ago.
A native of Chikhli of Navsari district, Harish was a class X passout and used to steal bikes from parking of industrial units and shopping complexs. He used to target those vehicles that didn't have handle locks and used duplicate key to steal. "He did'nt sell the bike but instead sold their parts like battery, wheels and tyres. We have recovered 11 bikes worth Rs 1.90 lakh after interrogating him and another 5 to 6 vehicles are likely to be recovered," said P K Diyora, PI, Katargam. tnn
