CID grills three accused in question paper leak racket

April 15, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - Bengaluru:

Criminal Investigation Department officials have detained a Ph.D. student, who had helped maths teacher K.M. Muralidhar write the key answers for the leaked question papers that helped students mug them up to score high marks.

Muralidhar, who was arrested by CID on Wednesday, sat with the student, Nagendra, at the residence of realtor Anil Kumar B., who has also been arrested.

The CID officials are questioning the three individually to corroborate their statement and to ascertain the role of other people in the racket.

Family questioned

The police on Thursday also questioned Kumar’s wife and children, and recorded their statements.

All the eight persons arrested so far worked for prime accused Shivakumar. “Our main focus is on to track down the people who were sourcing the question papers to him,” a senior police officer said.

Though the police have launched a massive manhunt for Shivakumar and his son Dinesh, they are yet to get any leads.
