Joe Perry Says Aerosmith Hasn't Decided If They're Calling It Quits In 2017

Aerosmith 01192010

Joe Perry says that Aerosmith have not decided on their immediate future despite Steven Tyler saying the band will "probably" do a farewell tour next year.

Once Tyler finishes touring behind his upcoming solo album, he said that Aerosmith are "probably doing a farewell tour." He added "Whether we do a farewell tour or go into the studio and do another record, I'm just excited about it."

"A farewell tour is something we've talked about doing for years, let's say roughly in the last five years," Perry told Rolling Stone. "It's just something the band's talked about at various times. At this point, the five of us have never sat down and said, 'It's time to do it.' So 'considering' is an appropriate word for that statement. A farewell tour is definitely not confirmed."

Perry said they'll likely re-assess the situation after they tour South America this fall.
