KLANG: Single mothers sometimes need a break to forget their woes and simply have a good time.

In view of this, the organiser of a musical event is looking for sponsors to purchase tables at the event that have been reserved for single mothers.

The stage musical titled Evergreen Kaadhal Galatta 2016 and a scrumptious sit down dinner, will be held this Friday, April 15th at 7pm at the Galaxy Hall, Sentul.

“The sponsorship response has been slow towards the reserved tables for single mothers and we are hoping some kind hearted people will step forward to give these admirable women a chance of a great outing,’’ said R. Sasekumar who is the owner Lucky Production.

He said it would be a big treat for the mothers who have worked hard all their lives.

Those who want to buy tables for the single mothers to attend the show can do so by calling 012-6445044.

A part of the evening’s earnings will also be channelled to two organisations, Pertubuhan Jari Emas Daerah Petaling and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Expert Team Force, which create opportunities for single mothers to become financially independent.

“I have always admired how single mothers are able to get back on the feet in spite of the challenges they face,’’ Sasekumar said.

The musical is also different from the usual repertoire of similar events.

Instead of importing stars from overseas, the dinner show highlights all the local talents from the Malaysian Indian music fraternity.

Sasekumar’s love for canines will also see him contributing towards the neutering of street dogs.

“I don’t condone the catching and killing of these dogs and I strongly believe the best option is to neuter and release them,’’ he said.

The contribution for the neutering of street dogs will be parked at a veterinary clinic and monitored by canine welfare project Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB).

“MDDB will ensure that the money is used to neuter and release street dogs,’’ he added.
